Marzek Etiketten+Packaging: naturally sustainable

Since our founding in 1879, we as an owner-managed company think sustainable and social. When it comes to investment decisions, the focus is never on the short-term profit optimization, but on the long-term value for the respective site and the guarantee of jobs.

"Sustainability is a matter of course for us as a family business. We always want to leave more to the next generation than we found ourselves. That is why we always invest in the long-term and future-oriented in the strategic substance of the company, in innovations and the modernization and expansion of our sites. This is the principle our family has followed since 1879. "Dr. Johannes Michael Wareka, CEO

For the company and its customers, this personnel policy implies continuity of the service quality. Because only with the best and most motivated employees are those top-notch achievements possible, for which Marzek Etiketten+Packaging is constantly rewarded.

Sustainably thinking customers

As the market leader in wine labels in Austria, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging lives with the rhythm of nature for many generations. In addition, numerous brands of beer and mineral water as well as the leading manufacturers of organic products have been among Marzek Etiketten+Packaging customers for many years. Sustainable thinking therefore begins in dialogue with the customer. Continuity and quality in consulting and service saves costs for both sides, avoids logistics and storage costs and ensures satisfied customers. This quality is also confirmed by our comprehensive certifications.

Nature as a product base

Paper is made of trees. Our suppliers use a FSC®-certified forestry upper for self-adhesive paper-based labels. In addition to 100% recycled paper, waste products from sugar cane cultivation, grain cultivation or the textile industry are processed to high-quality labels, even labels made out of pure wood or grape skins are possible.

A material with future potential is bioplastics. These consist exclusively or largely of renewable raw materials (for example sugar cane, lignin, rubber, vegetable oils, corn starch, proteins). They may or may not be biodegradable. Biodegradable means that this substance completely degrades within 6 to 12 weeks in an industrial composting plant.

Greenfield Investment - Ecological Operations

M-Flexilog in Békéscsaba is not only the latest plant of the Marzek Group, but also a model for energy efficiency and sustainable planning. Also certified with ISO 9001, 14001 and BRC / IoP and offers many environmental benefits:

  • LED lighting saves energy
  • In-house color mixing kitchen, cliché production and testing laboratory ensure short distances.
  • The laminator is also designed for solvent-free and water-based adhesives.
  • The modern machinery is directly connected to a solvent incinerator, which efficiently heats the plant with the resulting heat.
  • The intensive cooperation with the regional graphic college promotes the training and integration of local workers in the company.

Heavy metal free colors
Regular checks on our paint suppliers ensure that the heavy metal content in colors and varnishes is below the international maximum norm.

Environmental colors
Standard sheet-fed offset printing inks already contain considerable amounts of renewable raw materials such as modified vegetable oils or tree resin.

Suitable colors for food
Food packaging should not transfer any substances to the packaged goods that alter the smell, taste or composition of the packaged goods. Sheet-fed printing inks can therefore not only be mineral oil-free, but also low-migration if required.

FSC® certified papers
Our production site Marzek Kner Packaging in Hungary is FSC® certified. In addition, our paper suppliers have FSC® papers on offer, which we can use on request at any time.

Vegan labels
In cooperation with our paper suppliers, we can confirm if necessary that our label materials or printing inks are produced without additives of any animal origin.

Bioplastics are made from renewable raw materials; That is why they are called "bio-based" plastics. Both bio-based and petrobased plastics can be "biodegradable". There are certifications for both properties, which we obtain for you if necessary.
